HomeDash Estimate Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-15
This policy explains how HomeDash Limited ("we") collects, uses and protects personal data under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) when you use HomeDash Estimate (valuation reports, price indices, new-development price lists, rental yields, estimate badges and "track my home" email alerts). It supplements the main HomeDash privacy policy at www.homedash.hk/privacy; for this service, this policy prevails if they differ.
1. No sign-up needed to get an estimate
You can use the estimate, index, new-homes and yield pages without registering or giving any personal data. The flat details you enter (estate, block, floor, flat, size) are only used to calculate the estimate and are not linked to your identity.
2. "Track my home" email alerts (Personal Information Collection Statement)
Data collected: your email address, the flat you choose to track, language, the consent wording shown and when you agreed, and confirmation and unsubscribe times. If you subscribe from a report shared by an estate agent, that agent’s card on the report (name, phone, licence number, agency) is stored with it so alerts show the same agent.
Purpose: sending the confirmation email (double opt-in) and alerts about changes in that flat’s estimate and related property information. Giving your email is voluntary, but the feature cannot work without it.
Direct marketing: we only email you about the flat’s estimate and related property information after your explicit consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time free of charge.
The weekly “My estates” summary works the same way: we store only your email address, the estates you chose (up to 5), language and consent record.
Retention: deleted within 12 months after you unsubscribe; unconfirmed subscriptions are deleted after 60 days.
3. Agent tools
An agent’s card (name, phone, licence, agency) and their "Reports you sent" list are stored only in the agent’s own browser and in the share links the agent creates. Our servers do not store the agent card unless a client subscribes to alerts from that link (see section 2).
"Send to client": the client’s phone number is only used on your device to open WhatsApp and is never sent to or stored on our servers. To show whether a report was opened, we store only a random share ID, the flat valued, and the open count and times — no agent or client personal data. These records are deleted after 24 months.
4. Usage data, cookies and third-party services
We use Google Analytics 4 (the same account as www.homedash.hk) to understand overall usage, such as estimates viewed, searches, shares and report downloads. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies; we do not send your email or other directly identifying data to it. You can disable cookies in your browser or use Google’s opt-out tool.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes your IP address and basic request logs for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting.
Maps in reports load tiles from OpenStreetMap; your browser fetches them directly from its servers, which see your IP address. "Open in Google Maps" and bank valuation links take you to third-party sites governed by their own privacy policies.
Your browser stores some preferences locally (e.g. buyer/seller view, compare list, agent card); you can delete them by clearing your browser data.
5. Transfers and processors
We only disclose data to processors that help us run the service, for the purposes above: hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), email delivery (Resend) and analytics (Google). Data may be processed and stored outside Hong Kong, including in the US, Singapore, Japan and the EU, and we require appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to authorised staff for the purposes above. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
7. Access and correction
You may request access to and correction of personal data we hold about you, and opt out of direct marketing at any time. Email info@homedash.hk with your email address and your request. We normally respond within 40 days and may charge a reasonable fee for data access as permitted by the Ordinance.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data; please contact us first so we can resolve it quickly.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time and will show the last-updated date on this page.
